Assess your health risk based on body fat distribution using the waist-to-hip ratio.
| Category | Male | Female |
|---|---|---|
| Low Risk | < 0.90 | < 0.80 |
| Moderate Risk | 0.90 - 0.99 | 0.80 - 0.84 |
| High Risk | > 1.00 | > 0.85 |
What it measures: The WHR compares your waist size to your hip size. It indicates where you store body fat - around your midsection (apple shape) or around your hips (pear shape).
Why it matters: Fat stored around your waist (visceral fat) is linked to higher risks of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and other health conditions. Fat stored around hips and thighs is considered less risky.
